Itinerary

Begin your adventure by arriving in Iquitos, a vibrant city surrounded by the lush Amazon rainforest. From there, you will head to the pier to begin your river journey down the Amazon River. On this tour, you will witness the spectacular meeting of the Amazon River with the black waters of the Nanay River.

Your first stop will be at “Monkey Island,” a refuge dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked primates. You will interact with capuchin monkeys, choros, titís, and spider monkeys, among other animals such as parrots and parakeets.

You will continue to observe pink and gray dolphins as you sail down the river. You will arrive at a lodge where you will receive a warm welcome accompanied by exotic local drinks.

You will visit the riverside community of San Rafael to learn about its ancestral customs and traditional crafts. You will also explore the San Rafael sugar mill, where you can taste artisanal products such as typical macerated drinks.

In the evenings, you will enjoy Amazonian legends that will awaken your curiosity about the mysteries hidden in this magical jungle.

You will explore the waters of the Yanayacu River, known for its diverse wildlife, including hawks, herons, kingfishers, and even prehistoric birds such as the Hoatzin or Shansho.

You will admire unique medicinal plants such as “pan de árbol” or “ojé,” as well as giant species such as the Lupuna (Ceiba Pentandra), the guardian tree of the forest that can reach over 50 meters in height.

With luck, you may spot monkeys or sloths during this jungle adventure.

You will go fishing using native techniques in black waters, where you can also enjoy swimming in this unique environment.

You will return to the lodge to enjoy a regional dinner followed by a quiet night under the Amazonian stars.

Start early by watching a beautiful sunrise over the calm waters of the Amazon while listening to the natural symphony of sounds that herald a new day full of jungle life.

You will sail to strategic areas to observe exotic birds before enjoying a tropical breakfast accompanied by fresh local fruits.

You will visit the Morphoshapi butterfly farm in the village of San Rafael, where you can interact with amazing butterflies such as the Blue Morpho and Pupa Oro while learning about their life cycle, which is naturally protected within this private lepidopteran sanctuary.

Then you will head to the native Yahuas community, where you will dance their traditional Pandillas Turusayas dances and even try using traditional blowguns known locally as Pucuna.

Finally, you will travel to the city of Iquitos and check back into the hotel to enjoy a lively night out visiting local nightclubs after a relaxing evening dinner.

After breakfast, you will begin by exploring the Belén Market, the ideal place to buy authentic souvenirs before visiting the Plaza de Armas in Iquitos, the Cathedral, the Casa Fierro or Casa Eiffel, an iconic building from the French colonial era of the 19th century, the Casa Fizcaraldo, a famous film location, and the Malecón Tarapacá, ending with a visit to local artisans who are experts in unique regional crafts.

Lunch will be at the Al Frío Al Fuego floating restaurant, located in the middle of the Ucayali River and surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes, where you can savor typical Peruvian dishes.

Finally, you can enjoy the surrounding swimming pools and then transfer to Coronel FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport to take your return flight to Lima.
