This Salkantay trek is a spectacular adventure that connects us with Machu Picchu. The views consist of glaciers, mountains, Lake Humantay, and lush vegetation, making this one of the most beautiful treks.

We will cross the highest peak of the Vilcabamba mountain range until we reach Llactapata, which is located in front of Machu Picchu Mountain. This trail will finally take us to Aguas Calientes, located at the foot of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Early departure from Cusco

Your adventure begins very early, leaving Cusco for the picturesque villages of Izcuchaca and Limatambo. The trip takes approximately 3 hours, allowing you to enjoy the sunrise over the Andes.

Breakfast in Mollepata

You will arrive in Mollepata, where you can enjoy a delicious light breakfast. This village is famous for its charm and local cuisine, which will prepare you for the day of adventure ahead.

Hike to Soraypampa

After breakfast, you will continue to Challacancha, where you will meet your mule driver and horses. Here you will begin the hike to Soraypampa, a camp located in a valley surrounded by impressive mountains. The landscape is ideal for acclimatizing to the altitude and enjoying panoramic views.

Visit to Humantay Lake

In the afternoon, you will ascend to the beautiful Humantay Lake, located at 4,200 meters above sea level. This glacial lake is famous for its intense turquoise color and its spiritual significance in Inca culture. You will have time to explore and take memorable photos.

Night at the Lodge Del Cielo

After the visit, you will return to Soraypampa to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Lodge Del Cielo. You will spend the night in this beautiful place, surrounded by stars and the serenity of the Andes. You can choose to stay in places such as the Salkantay Skydomes Camp, which offers a luxury experience with geodesic domes and breathtaking views of the mountains.

Ascent to Salkantay Pass

Start the day with an energy-packed breakfast and then begin the hike to Salkantay Pass, one of the highest points of the trip. This pass offers breathtaking views of Nevado Salkantay and the surrounding mountain range.

Descent to Wayraqmachay and Chaullay

After crossing the pass, you will descend to Wayraqmachay and then to Chaullay, enjoying changing landscapes and unique ecosystems. This day is a true test of endurance, but the views and sense of accomplishment are well worth it.

End of the Day

At the end of the day, you will arrive at your destination, where you can rest and reflect on your experiences. This tour is a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and connection with the local culture.

The climate is temperate and humid in this area, which has created a microclimate favorable for the production of orchids, classified as the most beautiful in the world.

Visit to Llactapata

Hike to Aguas Calientes

You will continue walking from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes, following the gravel path alongside the train tracks. Finally, you will arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will stay in a hotel.

Return to Cusco

Finally, you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. This tour is a complete experience that combines adventure, nature, and culture, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the Peruvian Andes.
